Songs 9, 10, and beyond …

Our ninth song, currently known as “E. L. Wisty Meets Portishead” will be available to download from the site on Saturday (10th), and that’s not all … song 10 was recorded yesterday and is currently being mixed and tweaked, and song 11 is, well, we’ll just have to see about that …

When you’re releasing tracks like this piecemeal, it’s difficult to know exactly where to draw a line and say that you’ve now completed your first “album” (it seems odd that barely 6 months ago we batted around the idea of “doing some more music” with no fixed goals in mind other than killing time and giggling over a cuppa).

Ten seems like a reasonable, and fairly standard number of tracks, for an album, but since comedy songs frequently clock in shorter than your average pop hits you begin to wonder what an acceptable running time an album should be. With song 11, which we’ve got down as being a three-act, overblown, pretentious prog-rock/folk/doom metal epic (with an appropriately extended running time), it’s tempting to say that that should be the icing on the cake.

Either way, we’re still working (when time permits) on live mixes of the songs, as well as gathering bits of pieces of gear that will hopefully make playing live a reality before too long!
